WHY: The Fifth Mind ("the Service", "we", "us", "our") is built and operated by HarmonyAiLabs. This policy explains what information we collect when you use whythefifthmind.com, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We never receive or store your Google password.
The questions you ask, any files or images you attach, and any notes you write in the built-in Notepad.
Your subscription plan, question/credit usage, the date you first used the Service, and general activity timestamps — so we can enforce plan limits and keep your account working correctly.
Your browser's timezone (used only to guess your region for currency display) and standard technical data such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting and security infrastructure.
We do not currently process live payments. Once paid subscriptions go live, payments will be handled entirely by a third-party payment processor (such as Razorpay or Stripe). We will never see or store your full card number — the processor handles that directly, under its own privacy policy.
This is central to how the Service works, so we want to be explicit about it: when you ask a question, the text of your question — and the extracted content of any file or image you attach — is sent to the AI providers selected for that debate (currently OpenAI/ChatGPT, Google/Gemini, Anthropic/Claude, and DeepSeek, with Perplexity joining soon) so they can generate a response.
Each provider processes that content under its own privacy policy and terms, which we do not control. If your question or attachment contains sensitive personal information, please consider that before sending it — we cannot control how a third-party AI provider retains or uses data submitted to its API.
Some questions may also trigger a live web search through a participating provider's own search tool, in which case a query derived from your question is sent to that provider's search functionality as well.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your questions or files to train our own AI models.
We use your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to keep you signed in between visits, remember preferences like dark mode, and count anonymous free questions before you sign in. This stays on your device and is not sold or shared with advertisers — the Service does not run ads or third-party ad trackers.
We share your information only:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
We keep your account information and chat history for as long as your account is active, so your history stays available to you across devices. You can delete individual chats yourself from within the app. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted entirely, contact us at the email below and we will process the request, subject to any records we're legally required to keep (for example, transaction records once payments are live).
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including transmitting data over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you're located, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, for users in the UK/EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The Service is operated from India, and your information may be processed and stored there, as well as wherever our hosting and AI-provider partners operate their infrastructure (which may include the United States and other countries). By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.
The Service is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The debates, verdicts, and confidence scores produced by the Service are generated by third-party AI models and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not professional financial, legal, medical, or other advice, and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect despite the peer-review process built into the Service.
You are responsible for independently verifying anything you intend to rely on. HarmonyAiLabs makes no warranty as to the accuracy of any output and is not liable for decisions made based on it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
